On Thursday, Gov. Dannel Malloy and employees from Fairfield conglomerate General Electric will unveil the GE electric vehicle solar carport in Plainville.
The solar carport can charge 13 electric cars per day, allowing the vehicles to be entirely off the grid when charging and in operation. The facility has a 25-year lifespan.
The unveiling will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the GE Energy Industrial Solutions headquarters on Woodford Avenue in Plainville.
