GE completes energy sensor, mining acquisitions

Fairfield conglomerate General Electric completed two acquisitions on Wednesday for a Norwegian provider of oil and gas sensor equipment and a Virginia mining equipment manufacturer.

The purchase of Presens of Norway, a provider of pressure, temperature and flow measurement solutions, is meant to enhance GE Oil & Gas’s presence in Scandinavia and grow its measurement and control business.

The purchase of Virginia manufacturer Fairchild International will add 140 employees to the GE Mining division and increase the range of underground mining equipment offered by the company.

Financial terms for both deals were not disclosed.
