GE Capital expanding in Chicago

Stamford-based GE Capital, the financial services arm of General Electric, announced Monday plans to add 1,000 jobs in Chicago.

Company officials said the vast majority of the jobs are new jobs, but some will come from other states, including a “small number,” from Connecticut.

GE Capital already has more than 1,000 employees in Chicago and over 4,000 workers overall in the state of Illinois.

The new Chicago jobs will consist of skilled commercial, technical and regulatory positions to support primarily the GE Capital, Americas business with some functional support for GE Capital overall.
