Gale Toyota plans remodel in Enfield

The owners of Gale Toyota in Enfield are planning a remodel of the showroom and dealership facility, located at 50 Palomba Drive.

The town Inland Wetlands agency received an application from owner 50 Palomba LLC and principal Robert A. Green to demolish the existing 12,400-square-foot showroom and dealership office that was built in 1975.

Renovation plans call for the construction of a new two-story building, with almost 30,000 square feet on the main level and almost 3,000 square feet on the second level.

Plans for the 2.7-acre site on Palomba Drive also include a new retaining wall, landscaping, lighting, drainage work, and construction of a temporary showroom to use during the redevelopment work. 

The IWA is reviewing the application because the property contains roughly 425 square feet of wetlands, but none of the project area is located within a level A aquifer area nor in a floodway or floodplain, according to the application. 

The application will likely go to the Planning and Zoning Commission after IWA.
