Hartford Hospital’s signature fundraising event — The Black & Red Gala — raised nearly $1 million which will go toward the refurbishing of the hospital’s transplant Center. Nearly 1,400 people listened to musical group Earth, Wind & Fire at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts Jan. 5. The event was sold out more than six weeks ago. The gala also launched the Donate Life campaign, which hopes to get 1,000 new donors signed up on the donor registry. For information, visit becomeadonor.org.
