FuelCell revenues drop $10M in 2Q

Danbury clean power manufacturer FuelCell Energy on Tuesday announced its second quarter revenues were $28.6 million, a drop from the $38.3 million the company made in the second quarter 2014.

Despite the lower revenue, the company’s net loss for the quarter improved from last year, $10.7 million this year vs. $16.6 million in 2014, although last year’s loss included $6 million in expenses for the conversion of senior notes.

The company’s backlog at the end of its second quarter on April 30 was $312.2 million compared to $342.8 million in the second quarter of 2014.

Neither of those backlog figures include its 1.4 megawatt projects announced at Pepperidge Farm in Bloomfield and the city of riverside in California. Those two are expected to add $40 million to the backlog in the third quarter and begin contributing revenue in fiscal 2016.
