FuelCell Energy Inc. in Danbury, which makes fuel cells for electric power generation, says its fiscal second-quarter loss narrowed to lower product costs, The Associated Press reports.
The company said it lost $16.7 million, or 20 cents per share, in the three months ended April 30. That compares with a loss of $19.9 million, or 29 cents per share, in the same period last year.
Revenue slipped to $16.6 million from $22.9 million.
Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters expected a loss of 16 cents per share on $21.9 million in revenue.
FuelCell was down 18 cents, or 8 percent, to $2.08 in late morning trading.
