Danbury clean energy manufacturer FuelCell Energy recorded a net loss attributable to shareholders of $7.8 million in its third quarter, further down from the $6.4 million it lost in its third quarter 2013.
The 3 cents per share loss was due largely to its $43.2 million in revenues for the third quarter, down from $53.7 million from a year ago. Most of that came from a decrease in its power plant sales, as its service and license revenues increased.
The company’s product backlog decreased by $9.4 million to $137.3 million as of July 31, as shipments to Asia exceeded new order in North America.
FuelCell’s service backlog did increase to $201.8 million as of July 31, the first time the service division crossed the $200 million threshold.
