Hartford’s North End will be receiving a boost in its fiber-optic technology for more high-speed Internet service.
Frontier Communications announced an additional investment in Hartford by increasing speeds and deploying additional fiber technology to businesses and homes in the North End of Hartford. The company said fiber-optic technology is the fastest and most reliable network to deliver vital broadband services.
The state Office of Consumer Counsel had been critical of Frontier for not providing high-speed Internet service at affordable prices in the North End.
Frontier said in its announcement that expanding fiber technology in the North End coincides with its “aggressive plan” to deploy and offer the fastest available speeds to neighborhoods throughout Connecticut. Frontier said it is currently expanding fiber capabilities to customers throughout Connecticut, and is already providing the ultra-high speed technology in neighboring West Hartford, North Haven, New Haven and Stamford.
