Stamford’ Frontier Communications, which is seeking approvals from state regulators to acquire AT&T’s Connecticut wireline business, said it has launched a text messaging service for its business landline customers.
Frontier said it has recruited Zipwhip Inc. to provide the service, which allow customers to text or receive a text from a landline. The message is simultaneously sent to an Internet-connected device, such as a smart phone or desktop computer.
The company is pitching the service as a way for businesses to increase engagement with their customers.
