Stamford’s Frontier Communications Corp. said the U.S. Federal Trade Commission has terminated early an antitrust waiting period required for its planned acquisition of AT&T’s Connecticut wireline business.
The expiration of the waiting period, required under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976, is one of several conditions Frontier will need to satisfy to make the purchase — which it hopes to do later this year.
Frontier will also need approvals from the Federal Communications Commission and the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority.
