Sally’s Apizza is honoring New Haven’s frontline and essential workers by giving them free pizza on Labor Day.
Rob Nelson, the business’ director of operations, said the event will run at the Wooster Street restaurant on Monday, Sept. 7 from 4 p.m. until closing.

“Doctors, nurses, first responders, utility, restaurant and all types of essential workers across New Haven have been making it happen for the rest of us since this pandemic began,” Nelson said. “This is our way of saying ‘thank you’ and ‘we appreciate you.’”
Eligible workers can show their work badge or other credential to demonstrate their status as a frontline or essential worker in New Haven to receive a free small or medium pizza with any toppings of their choice.
Sally’s Apizza has an 80 plus year history in the city, as it was first established by Salvatore “Sally” Consiglio in 1938.
