Foxwoods Resort Casino has debuted a new “innovation zone” that showcases new styles of gaming technology, as well as new table games.
Foxwoods says the zone, which is part of the main floor at the Fox Tower casino, has been in the works for more than a year.
It’s a partnership with gaming technology company Interblock, which says Foxwoods is the first property outside of Las Vegas to introduce its AMUSE collection of games.
One of the target audiences is a younger demographic familiar with online gaming.
“It’s really just a different experiential player, someone that’s looking for something different,” said Peter Herem, Interblock’s vice president for North America.
He said the games feature longer game cycles, more player interaction, lower minimum wagers, strategic multipliers for game winnings and group competitive games.
The zone also features crash-style games, where players bet on a multiplying curve and try to cash out before the game “crashes,” a style that has been popularized online among cryptocurrency enthusiasts.
“This will really be a launch pad for a lot of the new product that we’re bringing into the property,” said Brian Hayes, senior vice president of gaming and analytics for Foxwoods. “We always want to refresh the floor.”
The resort celebrated its 34th anniversary earlier this year.
