Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket reported on Tuesday its slots revenue decreased 9 percent in May, according to the company’s report.
The slot machines generated $43.7 million in win for the casino in May vs. $48.2 million for May 2013.
The report from Foxwoods comes a day after Mohegan Sun resort casino in Uncasville reported its slot revenues dropped 6 percent in May.
A decrease in the amount wagered at the slots machines was partially to blame for the loss at Foxwoods: the machines took in $541.8 million in May vs. $557.9 million in May 2013.
As part of the casino’s agreement to operate in Connecticut, it must kick in a portion of its slots revenues to the state general fund every month. This month’s contribution was $11.7 million.
