Foxwoods’ slot win grew in June

For the first time in years, both Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun each reported a year-over-year uptick in their monthly slot machine win.

Following Mohegan’s announcement Wednesday morning that its slot win increased 3 percent in June, Foxwoods said its slot win was up 2.4 percent.

It’s the first time since December 2011 that both Connecticut casinos reported an increase, according to state filings. Foxwoods’ most recent increase was in February 2013.

Foxwoods’ June slot win totaled $38.6 million, up from $37.7 million last June. Gamblers wagered $484.9 million on slots during the month, up from $479.1 million.

The casino will pay the state $10.2 million in slot taxes as a result.
