Foxwoods’ slot revenue stays hot in March

Foxwoods Resort Casino on Friday reported its March slot revenue at $55.1 million, continuing the Mashantucket tribal casino’s rebound.

The $55.1 million in reported slot win is a 0.3 percent increase over the $54.9 million reported in March 2010. The numbers still are below March 2009, when the casino had $61.6 million in slot revenue.

The revenue at Connecticut’s largest resort casino has been steadily dropping since the early 2000s until this past July when the trend reversed itself. In the nine months since July, Foxwoods has reported five months of year-over-year increases. That the most for a fiscal year since 2001.

Despite the five months of year-over-year increases in slot win this fiscal year, Foxwoods still is tracking below the 2009-2010 fiscal year in slot revenues. From July 2009 to March 2010, Foxwoods had $492.5 million in slot win. Over the same period this fiscal year, the casino has $486 million.
