Foxwoods Resort Casino to roll back COVID-19 restrictions

Foxwoods Resort Casino is continuing to roll back pandemic-related restrictions this month, as an increasing number of people receive COVID-19 vaccinations.

Guests may play all slot machines, and the casino will slowly lift capacity restrictions on table games, restaurants, theaters and retail shops, Foxwoods announced. The casino will still require mask-wearing throughout the property, and will continue advanced cleaning of high-touch areas.

“With the exception of face masks, all protocols will be lifted by or before May 19, aligning with Connecticut’s plans,” Foxwoods President and CEO Jason Guyot said. “We will closely monitor our approach but are ready to introduce a safe and more relaxed ‘next normal’ environment for our guests and team members ahead of summer.”

Gov. Ned Lamont announced last month that all restrictions will end, except for a mandate that people wear masks indoors. The order will effectively end 14 months of pandemic restrictions on capacity and social distancing imposed on businesses in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Foxwoods last month reported slot revenues of $29.7 million in March, its highest monthly take since July 2020. In March, the casino reopened its poker room, along with its Rainmaker Casino, Live@Atrium Bar and Topgolf Swing Suite, an indoor golf arcade.
