Foxwoods quadruples TransAct contract

Connecticut resort casino Foxwoods is quadrupling its order with TransAct Technologies in Hamden for its promotional-coupon printers on slot machines to keep players gambling longer and boost visits to the resort’s other attractions.

In November, Foxwoods started a trial run of TransAct’s EpiCentral printers on 300 slot machines to dispense show tickets, discounts for meals and hotel rooms, among other instant player rewards, to promote its non gaming attractions.

On Monday, Foxwoods announced it was putting the printers on all 1,100 slot machines at the casino inside MGM Grand at Foxwoods. That number reflects 16 percent of all the slot machines among the six casinos on the Foxwoods property in Mashantucket.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Foxwoods, one of the largest and preeminent casinos in the country, in introducing the EpiCentral print system to the public,” said Bart Shuldman, Transact chairman and CEO, in a statement. “We believe the EpiCentral print system will be a significant addition to Foxwoods’ marketing program as it will enable the casino to reach out in real-time to its customers with multiple marketing and promotional messages.”

Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
