Foxwoods promotes Victoria to marketing chief

Foxwoods Resort Casino executive Robert Victoria, credited with launching its “Wonder of it all” campaign and slogan, has been put in charge of promoting all the Mashantucket Pequots’ gambling, entertainment and retailing enterprises.

With the new post of chief marketing officer, Victoria moves from being senior vice president of consumer marketing.

In the new role, Victoria is responsible for all Foxwoods and MGM Grand at Foxwoods marketing and sales initiatives, including casino services, promotions, customer development, entertainment procurement, resort and hotel sales, advertising, database marketing, e-commerce, public relations and brand management.

He will report directly to whomever is ultimately hired as the next president of Mashantucket Pequot Gaming Enterprises, according to Interim President William Sherlock.

Victoria started with Foxwoods in 1992 as a manager, before leaving four years later to ply his career elsewhere in the gaming industry, including Harrah’s and the Seneca tribal gaming enterprise in upstate New York. He returned to Foxwoods in February 2009, running consumer marketing.
