Foxwoods’ parent hires government leader as non-gaming investment arm expands

The Native American tribe that owns Foxwoods Resort Casino has hired a senior government leader from the Small Business Administration as it continues to grow its non-gaming investment arm, Command Holdings.

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation said it has hired John Dicus as director of business integration and compliance.

At SBA, Dicus worked with Native American firms to secure contracts with the federal government. In his new role, Dicus will lead Command Holdings’ business compliance program.

This year, the company said it has secured contracts with the Drug Enforcement Agency, Defense Information Systems Agency, National Guard Bureau and National Geospatial Intelligence Agency.

In the past two years, Command Holdings acquired Tampa, Florida-based management consulting agency WWC Global, along with information technology firms Quattro Consulting in Washington, D.C. and Celeen LLC in St. Louis.

Command Holdings’ team has grown to more than 500 employees and the company generates more than $100 million in revenue.

Dicus was previously the Seattle District lead business opportunity specialist for the SBA and before that served as contract administrator for the U.S. Army.
