Four Connecticut companies are among the best places to work in the country for millennials, according to a new report from Fortune.
Fortune released its annual “Best Workplaces for Millennials” report recently, ranking the top companies based on surveyed information and data from employees at the firms. Fortune broke down the rankings into two lists: the top 100 large companies with more than 1,000 employees, and the top 100 small-to-medium sized companies with between 50 and 999 employees.
In the large company category, Westport-based Bridgewater Associates LP came in at 60 on the list, while Synchrony Financial in Stamford ranked 74.
In the small-to-medium category, Daversa Partners in Westport came in at 22 and Stamford-based SpringWorks Therapeutics was ranked 65.
Employees from Bridgewater Associates, an asset management firm, said fully paid healthcare, a good 401(k) match and inclusive culture make it a great place to work, among other things. According to survey results, Synchrony Financial employees said their flexible work-from-home environment and half-day Fridays are reasons why they like working there.
Meanwhile, staff at Daversa Partners said the culture of the company makes employment feel rewarding. SpringWorks Therapeutics employees said their workplace has multiple Employee Resource Groups that help support staff, and the executive leadership team regularly communicates plans and updates with employees.
According to Fortune, the rankings are based on a survey of employees responding to 60 statements on a five-point scale and answering two open-ended questions about their workplace.
Over the last year, Fortune said it has surveyed companies employing 7.5 million people in the U.S. and received 1.3 million survey responses. Nearly 500,000 responses were received from millennials at companies who were eligible for this year’s list.
