Founder of GNCB Consulting Engineers passes away at 91

GNCB Consulting Engineers of Old Saybrook announced the passing of the company’s founder, Rudolph Frederick “Rudi” Besier

According to the company, engineering had been in Besier’s blood. He served in the Navy as a Seabee and spent more than three decades as a consulting structural engineer in Connecticut.

In 1965, Rudi came east from a Denver firm under the guidance of his mentor, Milo Ketchum. He found the Connecticut shoreline to be a desirable place to settle and practice while easily being able to service clients between New York and Boston.

The company indicated that Besier “served as a leader, mentor and teacher to many young engineers.”
