A former Residence Inn in Shelton has been turned into a 96-unit apartment complex with amenities.
The city’s zoning officials in September approved Toronto-based Bluevale Capital’s proposal to change the 4.44-acre extended-stay hotel property, at 1001 Bridgeport Ave., without making any changes to it.
The hotel, which contains 60,032 square feet across 14 buildings, was built in 1988. The converted Shelton Grove apartment complex offers one-bedroom studio units that range from 500 to 670 square feet and two-bedroom penthouse units that average 800 square feet.
All of the units are equipped with kitchenettes. Monthly rents start at $1,592.
The property has 116 parking spaces and 19 units designated as affordable housing under the state’s 8-30g affordable housing statute.
Amenities include a fitness center, outdoor pool, clubhouse, courtyard, outdoor grill and dining area, laundry facilities and parking. The complex has cleaning services, maintenance staff and an on-site property manager.
