Former NYDN editor to chair QU journalism dept.

Kevin R. Convey, former editor in chief of the New York Daily News, will chair Quinnipiac University’s journalism department, the Hamden school announced.

Convey spent about 18 months at the Daily News. He was ousted in Jan. 2012, and then turned his eye toward teaching, earning a master’s degree in entrepreneurial journalism at City University of New York, according to Capital New York.

Previously, Convey was editor in chief for the Boston Herald. He will assume the title of assistant professor within Quinnipiac’s School of Communications.

He remains an adjust professor at City College of New York and New York University.
