Devon Puglia, former communications director for Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, has been appointed as director of communications for New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer.
In his new role, Puglia will be responsible for overseeing both day-to-day media operations as well as long-term planning and messaging. He will be responsible for driving media outreach campaigns from the comptroller’s office to stakeholders in all five boroughs to improve city services.
Puglia had served in Malloy’s office since 2014, acting as the chief spokesman for the state of Connecticut while managing communications for dozens of agencies, more than 45,000 employees, and for Connecticut’s executive branch.
