United Health Group said it has replaced the CEO of its United Healthcare subsidiary, which has Hartford operations.
Gail Boudreaux, who was an Aetna senior vice president in Hartford before leaving in 2002, will leave United Healthcare in February.
The company said Boudreaux achieved the growth and performance goals set out when she was hired in 2008. United Healthcare did not say why she is leaving, but said she will receive a cash severance payment over a two year period, under a separation and release agreement.
United Health Group CFO David S. Wichmann, who until 2008 was CEO of United Healthcare, has been promoted to president. He will have oversight of United Healthcare going forward, the insurer said.
Wichmann will also lead a newly created office of the chief executive, which includes CEO Stephen J. Hemsley and Vice Chairman Larry C. Renfro.
