Duracell has listed its 311,000-square-foot former corporate headquarters in Bethel for $17 million as the battery maker relocates its research-and-development operations to the Atlanta area.
The three-story office and R&D building at 14 Research Drive sits on about 40 acres and is being marketed as vacant, offering redevelopment opportunities, according to a listing from Scalzo Commercial & New Development.

Duracell’s 2025 announcement that it will relocate its North American R&D headquarters from Bethel to the Atlanta area by summer 2026, ending its Connecticut presence. The status of the move is unclear.
Duracell did not respond Wednesday morning to a request for comment.
Built in 1995, the campus includes 777 parking spaces and amenities such as a cafeteria, fitness center and landscaped grounds. The property is zoned for office, laboratory and light industrial uses, and could also support alternatives such as multifamily housing or senior care, marketing materials state.
Located just off Interstate 84, the site is being positioned for a range of potential tenants or redevelopment plans once vacated.
The property has an appraised value of $43.6 million, according to town property records.
