Former DPW commissioner settles, pays state $30K

Theodore Anson, the Department of Public Works commissioner who allegedly steered illegal contracts and accepted free services, will pay the state $30,000 in a settlement agreement with Attorney General Richard Blumenthal. In the settlement agreement, Anson acknowledged that while he was commissioner, individuals in former Gov. John G. Rowland’s office tried to steer contracts for the Connecticut Juvenile Training Center to Tomasso Brothers Construction Co. Anson also admitted that he accepted free plans for home projects from Kaestle Boos Associates Inc.
