A former senior policy director at the Connecticut Business & Industry Association has joined one of the state’s highest-earning lobbying firms.
Pete Myers has joined Roy & Leroy Government Relations as a lobbyist, the firm announced Tuesday. At CBIA, Myers represented employers on business law, banking, energy, environmental and workers’ compensation issues. He also led the association’s E2 Energy & Environmental Council.
Myers joins a lobbying team that includes Managing Partner Dallas Dodge and Partner Joy Avallone. According to the firm, co-founder Craig Leroy plans to retire at the end of 2026. He stepped back from day-to-day management six years ago, when Dodge became managing partner.
Roy & Leroy ranked ninth on Hartford Business Journal’s March 2026 list of Connecticut lobbying firms, based on $1.49 million in reported lobbying compensation in 2024. Its listed clients included CBIA, Google, CVS Health, The Hartford and Stamford Health.
Before joining CBIA, Myers was a senior campaign aide to a major-party candidate for Connecticut governor, according to the firm. He holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from the University of Hartford, where he pitched for the Division I baseball team.
