Former Aetna CEO Williams takes Johnson & Johnson board seat

Former Aetna CEO Ronald A. Williams has been appointed to the board of directors of health care products company Johnson & Johnson.

Williams will serve on the board’s compensation and benefits committee and the public policy advisory committee.

Williams served as chairman and CEO of Hartford health insurer Aetna from 2006 to 2010, and as chairman from 2010 until his retirement in April 2011.  

He currently serves on President Obama’s management advisory board, which is helping to bring the best of business practices to the management and operation of federal government.  He is also an advisor to the private equity firm, Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, LLC, and serves as chairman of the board of Emergency Medical Services Corporation.
