FOR INTERNS, AIDING FOODSHARE IS A TREAT

Summer interns from The Phoenix Cos. organized the fifth annual Ice Cream Extravaganza to raise money for Foodshare, greater Hartford’s regional food bank. The interns raised $4,040 from lunchtime events in Phoenix’s cafeteria and the grand finale ice cream eating contest sponsored by A.C. Petersen’s in West Hartford. Jason “The Strawberry Topping” Zwanch, of Bristol, defeated four coworkers by consuming 17 scoops. Phoenix employees sponsored the competitors on a per-scoop basis.
