Food market and deli expanding in region 

A family-owned market with two area locations is expanding with a third store in Hamden.

Pino and Bruno Ciccone, the team behind P & M Fine Foods in Branford and New Haven, recently purchased property at 3285 Whitney Ave., Hamden.

The parcel has a 2,000-square-foot building on 0.78 acres. The deal closed on March 1 for $675,000, with the price also including all fixtures, furniture and equipment, according to an announcement.

Stephen Press, SIOR with Press/Cuozzo Realtors in Hamden, represented the buyers in the deal. According to Press, the new owners anticipate their new location will be ready to open by mid-April.

The business sells groceries and fresh food, such as hot soups, salads, sandwiches and gift baskets.

The listing broker, Kelsey Oddo of Kelsey & Company Real Estate represented seller Vincenzo Buontempo.

Grief-focused nonprofit leases Cheshire space

A nonprofit organization which works to help those who have lost loved ones has leased a new space in Cheshire. 

Joel Nesson, a senior commercial advisor with Press/Cuozzo in Hamden, brokered the lease of a 2,400-square-foot, second-floor office space in a plaza on South Main Street, Cheshire to The Cove Center for Grieving Children.

The building is a multi-tenant office complex on Route 10, and the organization will occupy Suite A, according to an announcement. The center now lists its mailing address as 1113 A South Main St., Cheshire.

The terms of the lease, which was finalized in February, were not disclosed.

Nesson represented the owner, Country Plaza LLC, while Richard Tabor of Berkshire Hathaway represented the tenant.

Six businesses to open at Darien Commons

Six new tenants are joining the line-up at Darien Commons, a mixed-use development on Heights Road in Darien.

Seamore’s restaurant, sweetgreen, Tartinery, Oath Pizza, Naya and Solidcore are expected to open by 2023, according to an announcement.

Several of the tenants are new to the Connecticut market. The location is a mix of retail space and luxury apartments.

“Darien Commons is an ideal spot to bring our commitment to serving sustainable seafood for our first Connecticut location,” said Jay Wainwright, CEO of Seamore’s.

Tartinery is a New York City-based casual café-bar. Naya, which has multiple locations in New York and Pennsylvania, features Lebanese food. Sweetgreen is a restaurant offering several salad options, while Oath Pizza offers food and dining in a casual atmosphere. Solidcore is a fitness-oriented business featuring blue neon lights and energizing music.
