Foodshare was awarded a $75,000 grant from the Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority (CHEFA) as part of its not-for-profit grant program.
This support will help Foodshare distribute an additional 275,000 meals worth of healthy, fresh produce and meat to help hungry families throughout Greater Hartford.
CHEFA’s support last year helped Foodshare distribute over 3 million meals worth of fresh, healthy food to low-income individuals.
This new grant will ensure the continuation of that vital work to meet the existing need, so that Foodshare can focus even more attention on long-term solutions that will engage the community at-large in ending hunger.Â
