FOI case hinges on CT employees’ addresses

Public safety officials across Connecticut say they’re worried about a state Freedom of Information Commission case that involves the addresses of public employees.

The commission will take up the matter Wednesday in Hartford.

The Public Safety Department, Judicial Branch and other agencies say they’re concerned about the safety of government workers.

The case began last summer, when North Stonington officials refused to provide a copy of the Motor Vehicle Department records they use for the town’s grand list without first redacting employees’ addresses that are exempt from disclosure.
