FM Facility adds Safety-Kleen as client

Editor’s Note: A previous versino of this story, based on information from Safety-Kleen’s homepage, incorrectly stated it has four branches and a recycling center.

FM Facility Maintenance in Hartford has added hazardous and industrial waste specialist Safety-Kleen Systems Inc. to its client roster, which FM says now ranks among the nation’s largest commercial-maintenance superintendents.

Under the contract, FM will maintain all 200 Safety-Kleen locations in the U.S. and Canada, including one branch in Portland.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Dave Eckelbarger, Safety-Kleen executive vice president, said the contract saves on overhead and frees staff to focus on its core business of collecting and processing used motor oil, cooking grease and other industrial and commercial wastes

FM will be responsible for Safety-Kleen’s maintenance operations, including conveying equipment, heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, fire protection, plumbing and electrical services, and repair of specialty access equipment such as overhead doors and security gates.

FM’s other maintenance  clients include Outback Steakhouse, 7-Eleven convenience stores, and Dollar General retail stores.

FM is an affiliate of Oakleaf Waste Management in Windsor.
