A joint wealth management and accounting firm founded in Cheshire has more than doubled its footprint at a new headquarters in Southington’s historic Clark Brothers Bolt Co. building.
FLP Financial Group and FLP Accounting & Tax (FLP Group) announced late Wednesday it recently relocated to the 10,000-square-foot space in the Milldale section of Southington at 409 Canal St.
The former manufacturing facility, built in 1854 for the production of bolts, nuts and screws, is also occupied by Kinsmen Brewing Co., advertising firm Signature Brand Factory and three other tenants.
FLP Group spent the last nine months renovating its space that features exposed brick and metal, barn wood, reclaimed factory floorboards, a kitchen and a meditation room.
FLP Group said the larger, open office offers more room for its workforce, which grew from eight employees to 15 over the last year. The firm plans to double its staff again over the coming years, officials said.
“The growth was the result of a strategic plan to bring in additional subject-matter experts in an effort to provide current and new clients with a more complete service offering,” FLP Group said in a news release.
Founded in 2011, FLP Group’s wealth planning and accounting arms together serve more than 800 individuals and small businesses across the northeast.
