Avon-based Women’s Health USA, a provider of practice management services for women’s health groups, is under new ownership.
The company was acquired by Unified Women’s Healthcare of Boca Raton, Florida, a practice management platform specializing in OBGYN, reproductive health care and maternity care management services.
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed, though Sverica Capital Management, the majority shareholders in Women’s Health USA, said it has reinvested a portion of its proceeds into the combined company.
Together, Unified and WHUSA will form the single largest physician practice management firm dedicated solely to women in the U.S., with more than 2,500 providers across nearly 900 locations, according to company officials.
“Women’s Health USA was founded more than two decades ago with a singular focus and passion for positively shaping the direction of women’s health care in the United States, and today’s milestone marks the next phase of our journey as we continue to empower physicians with the resources necessary to provide the best possible care for women,” said WHUSA Division President Nancy Bernstein.
On its own, WHUSA currently serves more than 600 women’s health care providers in seven states.
