Elizabeth “Betsy” Ritter will be the state Department on Aging’s next commissioner, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy announced.
Ritter, who served as a representative of the 38th district before running unsuccessfully for a state senate seat in the 20th district, succeeds Edith Prague, who retired in June.
Before being elected to the legislature, Ritter worked for Waterford and in hospital accounting and financial management.
