Five Iron Golf has opened its first Connecticut location in South Norwalk, with plans to employ about 40 people and add a New Haven venue in 2027.
The indoor golf and entertainment company opened an 8,500-square-foot facility at the Sono 50 building, 50 Washington St. The two-level venue features 10 Trackman golf simulators, two full-service bars, a kitchen and private event space.
The simulators allow customers to virtually play more than 400 golf courses and include swing-capture technology used for instruction and practice. The location will also offer golf lessons, leagues, junior clinics and club-fitting services.
The Norwalk franchise is owned and operated by John Cornelius, Jeff Kelly, Jacob Dowden, George Jamgochian and Bruce MacKenzie, the same ownership group behind a Five Iron Golf location that opened in Port Chester, New York, last year.
The group plans to open a third Five Iron location in New Haven in 2027.
Five Iron, which has more than 40 locations across 20 states and seven countries, is backed by North Castle Partners, Callaway Golf and Danny Meyer’s Enlightened Hospitality Investments.
