Connecticut is rewarding five towns with grants of $20,000 apiece for their progress in promoting affordable housing within their borders, authorities say.
The state Office of Policy and Management announced Monday that Old Saybrook, Torrington, New London, East Lyme, and Sharon are being recognized for their progress in adopting “incentive housing zones.”
The state’s “Housing for Economic Growth Program” rewards municipalities that voluntarily established the zones, which a diverse pricing mix of housing, OPM Secretary Ben Barnes said.
