First-time jobless claims jump again

In the week ended April 12, 372,000 Americans filed claims for unemployment insurance benefits for the first time, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.

That’s an increase of 17,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 355,000. The 4-week moving average was 376,000, a decrease of 750 from the previous week.
