First-time jobless claims fall for second week

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, 348,000 Americans filed for unemployment insurance coverage for the first time during the week ended Feb. 9.

That is a decrease of 9,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 357,000. The four-week moving average was 347,250, an increase of 12,000 from the previous week.
