Nearly a year after expanding into eastern Pennsylvania, First Niagara Financial Group Inc. , which is acquiring New Haven’s NewAlliance Bank, will consolidate its Philadelphia-area corporate operations into a single, centralized location this summer, bizjournals.com reports.
The Buffalo-based bank announced plans earlier this week to open a central corporate office in Plymouth Meeting, about 19 miles northwest of Philadelphia, the online news service reports.
It will shift 180 employees from five existing sites to a six-story, 63,000-square-foot building. It has agreed to lease the property for 10 years.
A variety of First Niagara employees will move into the new space in June. Some of those who work as retail managers, lenders, mortgage originators and human resources professionals will relocate under the same roof. Employees from the recently acquired Summit Insurance Group will also work from the new site.
