Buffalo’s First Niagara Bank is donating $3 million over three years to support two programs for at-risk pupils and their families run by the New Haven Public School system.
The funds will help pay for Boost!, a joint NHPS, city of New Haven and United Way of Greater New Haven program at-risk households, authorities said Monday.
Funds also will support the Residency Program for School Leadership in which NHPS partners with the Achievement First charter school organization to train administrators, they said.
A week ago, the financial successor to former NewAlliance Bank announced nearly $7 million in new homeownership aid to low- to moderate-income homebuyers, and the establishment of a small business loan pool in Greater New Haven.
