Outgoing Gov. M. Jodi Rell is holding what will likely be her final meeting of the State Bond Commission to borrow money for various projects before she leaves office, The Associated Press reports.
The Republican’s term runs out Jan. 5, when Democratic Gov.-elect Dan Malloy is sworn into office.
Rell is scheduled to lead the meeting of the Bond Commission on Wednesday afternoon.
It comes about two weeks after confusion on whether enough voice votes were cast at another meeting to finance 38 new commuter rail cars, one of Rell’s pet projects.
She reviewed an audiotape of the meeting and concluded there was not enough support.
The rail cars won’t be taken up Wednesday, but other items on the agenda range from $900,000 for an East Hartford senior center to $250,000 for a playground in Rell’s hometown of Brookfield.
