The National Conference for Community and Justice of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts Inc. (NCCJ), founded in 1927 as the National Conference of Christians and Jews, received a grant for $7,000 from the Courant Community Fund, a fund of the McCormick Foundation. The funding will support NCCJ’s youth educational programs, “Bridges,” “Camp Anytown” and the “Youth Action Coalition.” Addressing the subtle forms of bias, bigotry and racism, and examining diversity as a source of strength, NCCJ’s youth programs provide many student’s with their first opportunity to interact with people from varied social backgrounds.
