Fibertech Networks, which recently opened a regional office in Cheshire, said it has expanded its fiber network in the Nutmeg State by a third.
The Rochester, N.Y., company has 41 full-time employees in Connecticut, where it said it has installed more than 850 miles of fiber over the past several months, bringing its total in the state to more than 3,500 miles.
Fibertech has a network 9,000 miles in 23 mid-size markets in the eastern United States and is led by Court Square Partners of New York City.
“Business growth in Connecticut, coupled with increasing demand for broadband connectivity, has allowed Fiber tech to aggressively expand its presence in the state,” Michael Hurley, vice president of sales and marketing for Fibertech, said in a statement.
