Festival welcomes new programming leader

The International Festival of Arts & Ideas has named Malakhi Eason as its new director of programming and community impact.

Eason started in his new role on Nov. 16.

Shelley Quiala, executive director of the festival, said Eason’s experience as an artist, curator and promoter will “bring a unique and needed perspective to the work.” 

Eason said he will meet and collaborate with local leaders to develop “original, thought-provoking, and fun events.”

A Boston native, Eason was most recently programming manager at Omaha Performing Arts, where he curated the Jazz on the Green Series, ranging from intimate cabaret performances to outdoor concerts.

Utility company names new government and public relations leader

Avangrid Inc. of Orange has appointed Kim Harriman to the role of vice president, state government and public affairs.

Harriman will lead the company’s public policy strategy with a goal of obtaining favorable policy and regulatory outcomes.

Harriman’s appointment is effective December 14. 

Harriman has had various leadership roles, including serving as senior vice president for public and regulatory affairs at the New York Power Authority.

Real estate firm picks state director 

Coldwell Banker Realty announced Michael Mangrum has been named the commercial state director for its Connecticut, Florida and Westchester, New York operations.

In this role, Mangrum will be responsible for some 100 Coldwell Banker Commercial NRT affiliated agents and will support the activity of more than 400 residential community commercial agents.

Mangrum is an active broker with over 33 years of professional sales, commercial real estate investment and development experience. 

Mangrum most recently served as Coldwell’s commercial director for Northwest and Central Florida.
