Following Fender Musical Instrument Corp.’s acquisition of Kaman Music Corp., FMIC will move its production of Guild guitars from Tacoma, Washington to the newly acquired Ovation and Hamer manufacturing guitar facility in New Hartford.
The move is expected to be complete before the end of the year.
“We are committed to moving forward in a strong and focused way to ensure that Guild instruments continue to meet the highest standards of quality, affordability, and accessibility for our consumers,” Bill Mendello, chairman and CEO of Fender, said in a statement. “This decision will allow us to accomplish goals we would otherwise not be able to meet at our Tacoma facility.”
