The Mansfield Fire Department got an $83,467 FEMA grant to upgrade its fire hoses and nozzles, authorities say.
The town participated in the federal Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program under the Federal Emergency Management Agency in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Congressman Joe Courtney’s office said Thursday.
Since 2001, the firefighter-grant program has enabled U.S. first-responders to obtain much-needed emergency response equipment, personal protective equipment, firefighting and emergency vehicles, and training, Courtney said.
